Job summary

Placed Australia is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technologist for a client in Blacktown, NSW. The role applies engineering skills to test, install, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve vending machines and related technologies to ensure reliability and efficiency.

The candidate will perform standardized tests, install and configure machines, conduct preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and document activities and reports to support continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or 3+ years of relevant experience.
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability for manual tasks.
• Able to lift heavy items and work in dirty or wet conditions.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Understanding of manufacturing systems.

Responsibilities

• Apply engineering skills to test procedures and develop new protocols.
• Install, configure, and test vending machines for reliability.
• Perform preventive maintenance to extend equipment life.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues reported by customers.
• Collaborate with engineering to solve complex problems.
• Improve and modify vending machines to enhance performance.
• Oversee installation of all materials and equipment per specs.
• Maintain detailed records of activities and reports.
• Generate reports from data analysis to support decisions.
• Configure, test, and maintain vending machine software.
• Develop documentation to support project execution.
• Ensure projects meet standards and timelines.
• Apply safety principles and OH&S standards.
• Monitor real-time data to manage stock, sales, and diagnostics.
• Work with AI, UV cleaning, and cloud monitoring technologies.
• Track machine performance and investigate by slot or error type.
• Manage inventory records and refill targets.
