Job summary

Vanderlande Industries B.V. in Dandenong South, VIC, Australia, is seeking a Mechanical Service Technician for a 12-month fixed-term contract.

The role supports maintenance of an advanced automated logistics system on-site, with a rotating day/night roster and a view to permanency for the right candidate. You will perform mechanical maintenance on conveyors, cranes, robotics, and AGVs, working with automation specialists to maximise uptime and safety.

Qualifications

• Trade-based qualification with strong mechanical aptitude.
• Experience with industrial automation; PLC/VFD/HMI exposure advantageous.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office and digital maintenance systems.
• Physically fit; able to work at heights; rotating shift availability.
• Team player with strong communication and safety mindset.
• Permanent Residency or Australian Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive mechanical maintenance on automated logistics systems to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve mechanical faults across conveyors, cranes, robotic systems, and AGVs.
• Work closely with onsite automation specialists and operators to maximise system uptime.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and onsite maintenance processes.
• Support daily operational activities including system flow control and operator tasks when required.
• Uphold and promote a safety-first culture across all activities.
