Job summary

Department for Education, Children and Young People in Hobart is seeking an Advanced Skills Teacher to lead the Beyond the Plate project at Bayview Secondary College. Responsibilities include embedding hands-on learning for Years 7–10, developing VET pathways, and strengthening community partnerships to ensure long-term program sustainability

Qualifications

• Registered teacher with full registration under the Teachers Registration Act 2000.
• Current Tasmanian RWVP registration (Working with Vulnerable People) with Employment status.
• Four years or more training as defined in the Tasmanian Teaching Service Award 2005.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and coordination for the Beyond the Plate project at Bayview Secondary College.
• Lead implementation of a whole-school experiential learning program aligned to VET pathways.
• Develop partnerships with industry, government agencies and community organisations.
• Embed authentic hands-on learning across Years 7–10 in horticulture, hospitality, tourism and sustainability.
• Ensure long-term sustainability and impact on student engagement, attendance and post-school opportunities.
