Job summary

Applied Medical is seeking a field-based professional in NSW to lead the clinical adoption of innovative surgical technologies. You will collaborate with surgeons, hospital stakeholders, and Territory Managers to drive patient outcomes and measurable growth within the territory.

The role emphasizes in‑theatre support, education, and strategic account planning, with a focus on advancing implementations across public and private hospitals. A health science or biomedical degree is preferred.

Qualifications

  • 2–5+ years’ experience in the operating theatre environment as medical device representative or clinical specialist.
  • Strong understanding of hospital systems and theatre workflow.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive adoption of new technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Drive adoption and sustainable utilisation of priority surgical technologies across your region.
  • Identify and develop surgeons through structured training pathways in collaboration with Clinical Education.
  • Provide in‑theatre clinical support to ensure effective and sustained use of technologies.
  • Develop and execute territory plans with Territory Managers to achieve growth targets.
  • Navigate evaluation and procurement processes across public and private sectors.
  • Maintain accurate CRM reporting to manage pipeline and cross‑functional alignment.
  • Deliver targeted clinical education to support adoption in key hospitals.
  • Build relationships with key opinion leaders and training program supervisors.

About the Role

This is a clinical and commercial role suited to individuals who thrive in the operating theatre, enjoy influencing clinical decision-making, and are motivated by patient impact and market success.

You’ll Be Responsible For:
Clinical Adoption & Surgeon Engagement
  • Driving adoption and sustainable utilisation of priority surgical technologies across your region
  • Identifying and develop surgeons through structured training pathways in collaboration with the Clinical Education team
  • Providing in‑theatre clinical support to ensure effective and sustained use of technologies
Commercial Ownership & Territory Growth
  • Developing and executing territory plans, working with Territory Managers to achieve growth targets
  • Progressing opportunities across public and private sectors; effectively navigating evaluation and procurement processes
  • Maintaining accurate CRM reporting to manage pipeline, performance and cross‑functional alignment
Education, Network & Market Development
  • Delivering targeted clinical education to support adoption within key hospitals
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key opinion leaders, training program supervisors and high‑volume surgeons to support advocacy
About You

This role is ideal for someone who:

  • Takes ownership of territory performance and is motivated by delivering measurable outcomes
  • Enjoys influencing surgeons and driving behavioural change in clinical practice
  • Works effectively across internal teams to execute aligned, high‑impact initiatives
  • Thrives in a fast‑paced, autonomous environment
Essential Experience
  • 2–5+ years’ experience in the operating theatre environment as medical device representative or clinical specialist
  • Strong understanding of hospital systems, theatre workflow and clinical decision‑making
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive adoption of new technologies
Commercial Capability
  • Proven track record of achieving KPIs, targets or territory‑based outcomes
  • Experience developing and executing account or territory plans
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders across surgeons, procurement and hospital teams
Preferred
  • Degree in health science, biomedical or related field
  • Experience in laparoscopic or minimally invasive surgery
  • Experience delivering clinical education or implementing technology adoption programs
