Job summary

Metro South Health Service is seeking an experienced pharmacy professional to provide advanced pharmacy support services across diverse healthcare settings, based at Eight Mile Plains Health Centre. You will contribute to patient care by delivering advanced services, educating patients, and liaising with healthcare providers.

The role involves managing stock and invoices, supporting PBS revenue and medication delivery for eligible long‑term patients, and leading quality improvement activities

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Hospital/Health Services Pharmacy Support or equivalent.
• Advanced pharmacy knowledge, computer literacy and medical terminology.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with patients and colleagues.
• Experience contributing to quality improvement activities.
• Willingness to mentor and support less experienced team members.
• Ability to work within scope of practice under pharmacist supervision in a complex setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced pharmacy services for patients with complex conditions.
• Educate patients on medication use and aids within your scope of practice.
• Participate in multidisciplinary teams and liaise with healthcare providers.
• Manage pharmacy stock, procurement, inventory and invoice processes.
• Support PBS revenue services and medication delivery for eligible long‑term patients.
• Lead quality improvement activities and review work instructions.
• Mentor and supervise less experienced pharmacy assistants and technicians.
• Undertake ongoing professional development and contribute to a culture of patient safety.
