Job summary

The Royal Australasian College of Physicians is seeking an Advanced Trainee for outpatient and outreach work across Alice Springs and Central Australia. Based at Alice Springs Hospital, you will deliver supervised care in ambulatory medicine and participate in teaching, quality improvement and research activities.

Qualifications

• Eligible for General registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
• RACP written and clinical exams completed and within two years of completing the relevant specialist training.
• Strong knowledge in assessment and management of complex adult patients in ambulatory settings.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Interest in Aboriginal health and commitment to equity.
• Commitment to CPD, teaching, research and quality improvement.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and follow EEO/WHS principles.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality care to patients in outpatient clinics and outreach services across Alice Springs and Central Australia.
• Deliver care within a supervised General and Acute Care Medicine service while developing advanced clinical skills in ambulatory medicine.
• Participate in teaching, supervision and quality improvement activities to support patient outcomes.
• Advise on and engage in teaching, supervision and research within outpatient and outreach services.
