Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly motivated Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our Primary Care Services team within Argyll & Bute HSCP.

The Advanced Nurse Practitioner will work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, providing advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, prescribing, and management of patients presenting with both undifferentiated and long-term conditions.

The post holder will play a key role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care across Primary Care Services, and Urgent Care pathways.

The successful candidate will demonstrate expert clinical decision-making skills, provide leadership within the wider nursing team, and contribute to service development, quality improvement, clinical governance, and workforce development.

The role includes providing assessment and treatment for a wide range of presentations, undertaking advanced clinical examinations, requesting and interpreting investigations, prescribing appropriately, referring patients to specialist services when required, and contributing to the prevention of hospital admission through proactive management of patient care.

As an experienced nurse with Registration on Part 1 of the NMC Register, you will possess extensive post registration experience. A Master’s degree/PgDip in Advanced Practice which incorporates a programme of Advanced Clinical Examination Skills and Extended Independent (non-medical) Prescribing qualification is an essential requirement for this post.
