Job summary

Department for Education, Children and Young People in Tasmania seeks an Instructional Specialist for Huonville High School to advance literacy and numeracy practices and MTSS within the South region. The role collaborates with leaders and teachers to implement evidence-based strategies and Tier 1–3 supports.

The position is fixed-term, part-time (14 hours per fortnight) from 1 February 2027 to 17 December 2027 with a remuneration of $129,640 per annum under the Teaching Service Award.

Qualifications

• Registered teacher with full registration under the Teachers Registration Act 2000.
• Current Tasmanian RWVP registration with status – Employment.
• Four years or more training as defined in the Tasmanian Teaching Service Award.

Responsibilities

• Support implementation of the minimum schooling guarantee for reading and numeracy.
• Collaborate with school leaders and teaching teams to promote evidence-based literacy and numeracy strategies.
• Support MTSS with quality Tier 1 instruction and effective Tier 2/3 supports.
