Job summary

Future Generation Joint Venture (FGJV) invites applications for an Administrator – Training & Competency to support the Training Department on the Snowy 2.0 project in NSW. The role oversees training and competency activities, maintains records, and facilitates inductions and learning sessions across a diverse workforce in a remote, challenging environment.

Ideal candidates will have 2+ years in admin/training support, proficiency with training systems and MS Office, and strong communication.

Qualifications

  • Two years in an administrative, training support or comparable role.
  • Experience in training and competency administration, including records and reporting.
  • Experience using training management systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and administer training and competency activities, including scheduling and booking resources.
  • Maintain accurate training and competency records, including attendance and completion information.
  • Communicate training schedules, updates and reminders to participants and training staff.
  • Coordinate training logistics, including materials, equipment, facilities and other session requirements.
  • Prepare timely training and competency reports, including status against requirements and gaps.

The Future Generation Joint Venture brings together the combined engineering experience and expertise of WeBuild, Clough and Lane and has been selected to design construct Snowy 2.0. This project is based within the Snowy Mountains in NSW and will deliver one of the largest pumped hydro schemes in the world.

Snowy 2.0 is the next chapter in the Snowy Scheme's history. It is the largest committed renewable energy project in Australia and will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come. This Iconic Project has and will continue to create its own legacy in Australian history.

Purpose of the Role

The Administrator – Training & Competency provides comprehensive administrative, reporting and facilitation support to ensure the efficient and effective operation of Training Department activities across the Project.

The role coordinates and administers training and competency activities, maintains accurate training and competency information, monitors and reports against approved requirements, supports training logistics and systems, and provides administrative and systems support to participants, training personnel and project stakeholders.

The role is also expected to facilitate approved project learning activities, such as inductions, awareness sessions, briefings and other structured learning activities, as required.

Qualifications
  • Construction White Card - mandatory
  • Cert III in Business Administration or comparable
  • Cert IV in Training – preferred
Experience
  • Minimum of two years' experience in an administrative, training support or comparable role.
  • Experience in training and competency administration, including maintaining training, competency or compliance-related records and reporting – highly advantageous.
  • Experience using training management systems and Microsoft Office applications to administer training, maintain records and support reporting – highly advantageous.
  • Experience facilitating inductions, presentations, briefings or other group learning activities – highly advantageous.
  • Experience in the construction industry and/or a training environment – desirable.
  • Experience working in an environment with camp accommodation – desirable.
  • Highly developed organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective presentation and group facilitation skills, with confidence engaging and communicating with diverse workforce groups.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining training and competency records, data and reporting.
  • Ability to review training and competency information, identify gaps or discrepancies, and elevate matters appropriately.
  • Strong customer service and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Initiative, adaptability and a proactive approach to changing operational needs.
  • Proficiency in training management systems and Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and administer training and competency activities, including scheduling and booking resources.
  • Maintain accurate training and competency records, including attendance, completion information and supporting records.
  • Communicate training schedules, updates and reminders to participants and training staff.
  • Coordinate training logistics, including materials, equipment, facilities and other session requirements.
  • Prepare timely training and competency reports, including status against approved requirements, attendance, completion and identified gaps requiring follow-up or escalation.
  • Accurately enter, maintain and validate training and competency-related data in approved management systems.
  • Provide administrative and systems support to training staff, participants and relevant project stakeholders.
  • Facilitate approved project learning activities, including inductions, awareness sessions and briefings, in accordance with approved materials and delivery requirements, as required.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and recommend changes aligned with the role.
