Job summary

The Women’s and Children’s Health Network (WCHN) in Adelaide CBD is seeking an Administrative Officer (ASO2) to provide consumer‑oriented service for access to clinical and corporate information under FOI guidelines. This full‑time role reports to the Information Release Manager and involves confidentiality and records management.

Key duties include responding to inquiries, developing office processes, administering FOI requests, maintaining medical records, and safeguarding all information

Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication and stakeholder liaison skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage priorities and meet deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage high volumes of work.
  • Previous administration/clerical experience, with knowledge of records management and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel, with basic knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

  • Provide front-line customer service and promptly respond to enquiries regarding WCHN patient/client information, ensuring confidentiality and appropriate information release procedures.
  • Office processes and procedures are developed, implemented, maintained, and evaluated in conjunction with colleagues and management.
  • Ensure requests pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act are administered in accordance with specific guidelines and recorded using FOI office process.
  • Maintaining medical records and client files and liaising with Medical Records for maintenance of patient records.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all requests and documents, and identify and discuss opportunities to improve ROI processes with the Information Release Manager.

About the role

The Administrative Officer -Information Release is accountable to the Information Release Manager on a day-to-day basis for the provision of a consumer orientated service to facilitate access to clinical and corporate information requested by internal and external consumers.
