Job summary

  • Provide leadership and direction to administrative staff and provide on the job training and advice to staff.
  • Provide high level administrative support for teaching, learning and research operations.
  • Create high level documents including correspondence, presentations and reports for stakeholders.
  • Provide financial and HR support in consultation with the Faculty Manager.
  • Coordinate timetabling and scheduling within the School.
  • Maintain accurate data entry and robust reporting processes.

Edward Mann is looking for a Administration Manager on behalf of a well-respected, top-tier Australian University. The University works to change lives through learning and research, focused on making a real impact.

The role is a 8-month maternity leave cover contract (March 2027) and is based in Sydney. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the region’s largest and fastest-growing Universities. Position Purpose

The Administration Coordinator will lead an effective national administration team (7 staff) and will perform a variety of high level administrative duties to support the school in the areas of teaching, learning and research.

Key Accountabilities
  • Provide leadership and direction to administrative staff and provide on the job training and advice to staff.
  • Provide a high level administrative function within School ensuring effective and efficient administrative and project support.
  • Create a range of high level documents including various correspondence, presentations and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide financial and HR support in consultation with the Faculty Manager.
  • Provide excellent customer service to students and University stakeholders
  • Completing tasks and communications in an accurate and timely manner, whilst liaising closely with other areas of the organisation.
  • Ability to work accurately with detailed information; including data entry, maintaining spreadsheets, managing correspondence, collating data for report and under direction prepare a range of written communication.
  • Continuous improvement delivery by reviewing, developing, and implementing enhanced administrative systems and processes
  • Coordinate timetabling and scheduling for School by collaborating effectively with university staff.
  • Perform other responsibilities, commensurate with the expectations of a role at this level, which contribute to the overall objectives of the National School.
  • Comply with policies and procedures in all aspects of their work and conduct.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications with at least 2 years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of skills and experience.
  • Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory position managing teams of similar size.
  • Experience working within a complex and geographically dispersed operating environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial, budget, and resource planning.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills for building relationships across the University and with external agencies.
  • Systems Proficiency: Strong knowledge of enterprise and student administration systems.
