Job summary

Turfworks Group in Hervey Bay, Queensland, is seeking an Administration & Social Media Officer to join a friendly, family-run team. This permanent part-time role offers flexible hours and a mix of office administration, customer service, and social media tasks.

You'll help with daily office duties, create content in Canva for Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, schedule posts, update our Google Business profile, and support the General Manager.

Qualifications

• Experience in administration, customer service or retail preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Interest in social media and marketing.
• Ability to learn quickly and work with Canva.

Responsibilities

• Answer phone calls and emails, social media inquiries.
• Welcome customers in-store and assist in the Lawn Shop.

We're Turfworks, a locally owned, family-run turf business based in beautiful Hervey Bay.

Since 2003, we've been growing, supplying, delivering and installing quality turf for homes, businesses and sporting projects across Queensland. We also have a busy Lawn Shop, helping our customers turn their lawn dreams into reality.

We're a close-knit team who work hard, have a laugh along the way and take pride in what we do. Now, we're looking for a new friendly face to join the crew!

THE ROLE – A LITTLE BIT OF EVERYTHING!

We're on the hunt for an enthusiastic, organised and creative Administration & Social Media Officer who loves variety and isn't afraid to get involved.

This isn't your typical sit-at-a-desk-all-day kind of job!

One minute you'll be helping a customer organise their new lawn, the next you'll be creating something fun in Canva, scheduling social media posts, answering enquiries or keeping the office running smoothly.

You'll be one of the friendly faces and voices of Turfworks, helping bring our business to life both behind the scenes and online.

You'll also be the General Manager's trusty right-hand person, helping keep their diary, tasks, and to-do list on track. Basically, a little bit of PA magic to help keep the wheels turning!

So, what will you actually be doing?

Answering phone calls, emails, social media messages and customer enquiries.

Welcoming customers and assisting in our Lawn Shop.

Helping customers with turf, lawn care products and sales enquiries (don't worry, we'll teach you the turf talk!).

Processing customer orders and keeping everything organised.

General administration, data entry and maintaining accurate records.

Assisting with the day-to-day running of our office.

Building positive relationships with our customers and suppliers.

Creating fun, engaging content for Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.

Planning and scheduling social media posts.

Bringing ideas to life using Canva (we love a bit of creativity!).

Updating our Google Business profile and other digital platforms.

Keeping an eye on comments, messages and online enquiries.

Capturing photos and videos around the farm, Lawn Shop, deliveries and projects.

Getting involved in marketing campaigns, promotions and all things Turfworks online.

We love fresh ideas, so if you've got a creative side and enjoy thinking outside the box, we'd love to see it!

A LITTLE ABOUT YOU...

We're not looking for someone who knows everything about turf (although you'll certainly learn a thing or two!). We're looking for someone with the right attitude, a friendly personality and a willingness to give things a go.

You might be just the person we're looking for if you:

Love chatting with people and making customers feel welcome.

Are organised, reliable and have a great eye for detail.

Have great written and verbal communication skills.

Are confident using computers and Microsoft Office.

Know your way around Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.

Enjoy creating content and have a little creative flair.

Have used Canva or are keen to learn.

Have experience with Meta Business Suite (bonus points!).

Can work independently but also love being part of a team.

Are happy to roll up your sleeves and jump between different tasks.

Bring a positive attitude and a bit of personality to the workplace!

Previous experience in administration, customer service, retail, sales or social media would be fantastic, but we're just as interested in finding the right person who is keen to learn and grow with us.

Position: Permanent Part-Time

Days: Monday to Friday

Hours: Flexible for the right person!
