Hunter New England Local Health District (HNELHD) is seeking motivated and adaptable an Administration Officer to join our Emergency Department at Tamworth Hospital.

About the Team

The Emergency department is located on 1 st floor of Tamworth Hospital and plays a vital role in supporting patients, visitors and clinical teams. As the first point of contact for many people accessing our services, our team is committed to delivering a welcoming, professional and patient-focused experience.

About the Role

As an administration Officer, you'll work across the Patient Services department, providing outstanding customer service while supporting a range of administrative functions. Every day brings something different, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and working collaboratively with others.

This is a shift position on a rotating roster Monday to Friday with the earliest shift starting at 6:30am and the latest shift from midnight.

Reporting to the Patient services manager, you'll be responsible for:

  • Providing high-quality customer service via face-to-face interactions, telephone and email enquiries.
  • Supporting administrative processes including data entry, record management, correspondence and financial administration.
  • Assisting with recruitment administration, payroll rosters, purchase requisitions, receipting and record keeping.
  • Coordinating incoming correspondence and ensuring actions are completed within required timeframes.
  • Maintaining accurate electronic and paper records in accordance with NSW Health and State Records requirements.
  • Building positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders across the hospital.
  • Contributing to a safe, respectful and culturally inclusive workplace that reflects the values of HNE Health and NSW Health.
