Job summary

Lindsay Australia is seeking an experienced Administration Manager at Derrimut Depot (Melbourne) to lead a 6-person team across 7 days, ensuring accurate despatch, payroll and invoicing while improving performance. You will partner with Depot Management to maximise efficiency and uphold safety standards in a fast-paced, temperature-controlled transport environment.

The role offers ongoing development within Australia’s largest refrigerated transport network, with a focus on hands-on leadership

Responsibilities

Why You’ll Love this Role:

Derrimut Depot (Melbourne) is one of the busiest depots in the Lindsay Transport network — and we’re looking for a highly experienced Administration Manager to step in and lead from the front. With a 200-strong workforce and 24/7 operations, reporting to the 2IC Depot Manager, you’ll oversee transport administration and lead a team of 6 working across the 7 days of operations. Driving accuracy and continuous performance improvement while keeping everything running smoothly in a fast-paced environment is core to success in this role. As part of Lindsay Transport, Australia’s largest fresh produce transporter, you’ll play a key role in moving critical, temperature-controlled freight where timing and accuracy matter most. This is a full-time role with real pace, responsibility, and the chance to make your mark in the nation’s biggest temperature-controlled transport business.

What You’ll Do:

• Supervise and coordinate the administration team
• Ensure adequate resourcing to meet operational demands
• Oversee manifesting to ensure accuracy of despatched loads
• Manage and when necessary, perform driver debriefing
• Ensure accuracy of pallet administration via manifesting and ensure timely processing of all transactions
• Become subject matter expert in all administration systems and processes.
• Train and support new and current team members on systems and processes
• Set clear performance expectations and manage outcomes
• Lead from the front in a hands-on environment
• Partner with the Depot Management team to maximise site efficiency

What You Bring:

• Experience in a similar leadership role, ideally within temperature-controlled transport.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Approachable leadership style that builds trust and team engagement
• Strong operational knowledge, preferably including TruckMate, HACCP or cold-chain requirements and pallet processes
• Sound administration skills across daily and weekly reporting, payroll, purchase orders and invoice approvals
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to manage competing priorities and remain effective under pressure
• Self-motivation, strong leadership presence and a genuine commitment to safety
• Ability to build strong relationships and engage a diverse workforce
