Job summary

Hunter New England Health is seeking an Administration Assistant for the Gastroenterology Clinical Service Unit at John Hunter Hospital. You will support doctors, nurses and allied health staff by handling admin tasks, coordinating clinics and typing clinical correspondence.

Are you an organised and friendly administrator who enjoys being part of a busy healthcare environment? Join the Gastroenterology Clinical Service Unit at John Hunter Hospital and provide essential administrative support to a diverse team of Doctors, Nurses and Allied Health professionals.

Working alongside two other Administration Assistants, you'll play an important role in keeping the day-to-day operations of the Gastroenterology Unit running smoothly.

What you'll be doing:

No two days will be exactly the same. Your role will include a range of administrative responsibilities, including:

  • Answering phone calls and responding to email enquiries
  • Scheduling clinics and coordinating appointments
  • Clinically typing correspondence and documentation
  • Providing administrative support to Doctors, Nurses and Allied Health staff
  • Assisting with the smooth day-to-day running of the Gastroenterology Unit
  • Managing sensitive information with a high level of confidentiality
  • Working closely with the wider team to ensure administrative tasks are completed accurately and on time
