Job summary

Pacific Life Re Limited in Sydney is seeking a Corporate Actuarial Projects Actuary to support the delivery of actuarial results across US GAAP, IFRS 17, LAGIC, Economic Capital, and BMA reporting. You will partner with the Valuation and CA teams to coordinate modelling, support capital management, and provide insights for financial reporting and business planning.

The role involves contributing to Project Unify, driving continuous improvement, and coordinating with DBS functions such as Finance

Qualifications

• Qualified actuary with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in life insurance or life reinsurance.
• Excellent technical actuarial and analytical skills.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proven track record of challenging/improving processes and driving continuous improvement.
• Experience with actuarial modelling software and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Interpret, analyse and summarise actuarial model outputs across statutory bases (US GAAP, IFRS17, LAGIC, EC, BMA).
• Support capital management processes for the Pacific Life Re Australia entity and update key actuarial reports.
• Develop actuarial methodology across all reporting bases; assess potential deals or changes to structures.
• Produce controls and validation reports to ensure accuracy of actuarial results.
• Maintain close working relationships with other CA teams and DBS functions.
• Assess financial impact of changes to actuarial assumptions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and testing of Deliverables from Project Unify.
• Specify model requirements for new developments and test financial results from updates.
