Pacific Life Re Australia is seeking an experienced actuary to support delivery of actuarial results across US GAAP, IFRS17 and LAGIC bases, ensuring accuracy for financial reporting and business planning. You will collaborate with the AA&I team and DBS functions, driving continuous improvement and participating in Project Unify transformations.

Qualifications

• Qualified actuary with minimum 3 years’ experience in life insurance or life reinsurance.
• Excellent technical actuarial and analytical skills.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Track record of challenging/improving processes and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Experience with actuarial modelling software and proficient with Microsoft Excel.
• Good understanding of the CA function.
• Good knowledge of IFRS17 or LAGIC or US GAAP reporting bases, including modelling complexities.

Responsibilities

• Interpret, analyse and summarise actuarial model outputs for Financial Reporting and Business Plan across bases (US GAAP, IFRS17, LAGIC, EC, BMA).
• Support capital management processes and annual calibration of internal targets and reports (ICAAP, AVR, FCR).
• Develop actuarial methodology across reporting bases and for potential new deals or changes to structures.
• Produce controls and validation reports to ensure completeness and accuracy of actuarial results.
• Maintain close working relationships with CA teams and DBS functions.
• Assist with financial impact assessments related to changes in actuarial assumptions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and support Project Unify deliverables.
• Specify model requirements for new developments and test financial results from updates.
