Job summary

The St Vincent de Paul Society NSW is seeking a part-time role supporting mental health and wellbeing programs, including counselling and related activities. You will facilitate group sessions or coordinate with external health professionals, ensuring participants receive comprehensive support.

Applicants should have qualifications or be studying in mental health fields, with strong community sector experience, empathy, trauma-informed approach, and excellent time management.

Qualifications

Your Role

This role involves supporting a range of mental health and wellbeing programs, including counselling, dependency recovery, and other related therapeutic activities. You will be responsible for either facilitating group sessions and workshops, coordinating with external health professionals and community services, or a mix of both depending on your background, to ensure participants receive comprehensive support.

You Will Need

· Qualifications (or currently studying) in mental health counselling, occupational therapy, rehab counselling, social work or a similar field

· Strong experience working in the community sector

· A person-centred and trauma-informed approach

· Flexibility and agility, strong time management and organisational skills, and a 'can-do' approach.

· Empathy and relationship building skills
