Job summary

Leidos Australia is seeking an experienced Active Directory Engineer to support the implementation, administration, security, and ongoing optimisation of enterprise identity services. This role is critical for protecting identity platforms and ensuring service resilience across the organisation.

You'll work with cybersecurity, cloud, and infrastructure teams to modernise identity solutions, develop automation with PowerShell, and contribute to mission-critical projects that matter to national

Qualifications

• Strong experience administering enterprise Active Directory environments, including AD DS and Group Policy.
• Experience with hybrid identity services and cloud identity initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Administer and secure enterprise AD environments (domains, forests, trusts, DCs, GPO, DNS, DHCP, auth).
• Support hybrid identity with Entra ID, synchronisation, and cloud identity initiatives.
• Monitor health, security, backup, DR, and resilience of AD services.
• Develop PowerShell automation and documentation to improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, cloud, and infra teams on identity risks and modernisation.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Active Directory Engineer to support the implementation, administration, security, and ongoing optimisation of enterprise identity and directory services. This role plays a critical part in protecting enterprise identity platforms, enabling secure access, maintaining service resilience, and reducing operational and security risk across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, secure, and maintain enterprise Active Directory environments, including domains, forests, trusts, replication, domain controllers, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and authentication services.
• Support hybrid identity services, including Microsoft Entra ID integration, synchronisation technologies, cloud identity initiatives, and authentication solutions.
• Monitor platform health, performance, security, backup, disaster recovery, and operational resilience of Active Directory and related services.
• Develop and maintain PowerShell automation, technical documentation, operational procedures, and engineering standards to improve efficiency and consistency.
• Partner with cybersecurity, cloud, infrastructure, and application teams to identify and remediate identity risks, support incident investigations, and contribute to modernisation initiatives.
