Job summary

Tech Mahindra is seeking an ACS Platform Engineer to support design, implementation and operational readiness of fixed and mobile auto configuration server platforms. The role covers provisioning, device onboarding, firmware management, diagnostics and performance testing across TR-069 and TR-143 workflows.

The engineer will craft SOWs and designs, test connectivity across ACS platforms, and coordinate with application, network, and vendor teams to ensure smooth deployments and migrations.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience operating carrier-grade telecom platforms.
• Hands-on with ACS, TR-069, CWMP provisioning or equivalent device-management platforms.
• Strong Linux, networking, DNS, IP addressing and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience supporting production migrations and controlled change implementations.
• Scripting and automation capability (Python, Perl, Bash, or similar).
• Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting and performance analysis.
• Familiarity with ITIL-aligned incident, problem, change and release processes.
• Ability to create clear technical documentation for engineers and operators.

Responsibilities

• Produce site-specific Statements of Work, High-Level Designs and Low-Level Designs.
• Design and test connectivity between ACS platforms, infrastructure consumers and cyber services.
• Analyse device data models and vendor implementation requirements.
• Configure and test ACS parameters, provisioning workflows and device-management transactions.
• Support firmware upgrade, rollback, whitelist and manifest-based deployment processes.
• Support mesh and booster visibility, diagnostics and firmware management.
• Validate Fixed NBN, Mobile FWA, 4G backup, 5G NSA and 5G SA operating scenarios where applicable.
• Develop test plans, test cases and acceptance criteria.
• Execute functional, integration, failover, performance, security and regression testing.
• Validate TR-069 provisioning and device-management transactions.
• Validate TR-143 upload, download, latency and sweep-test workflows.
• Investigate defects, document root causes and coordinate remediation with multiple teams.

Telecom Client requires an ACS Platform Engineer to support the design, implementation, integration, testing and operational readiness of the Fixed and Mobile Auto Configuration Server (ACS) platforms. ACS manages customer-premises equipment through TR-069, including device onboarding, provisioning, firmware management, diagnostics and performance testing.

Key Responsibilities

Required Skills and Experience

The engineer must demonstrate:

• Strong experience operating telecommunications or carrier-grade platforms.
• Hands on experience with ACS, TR-069, TR-143, CWMP, CPE/RG provisioning or equivalent device-management platforms.
• Strong Linux, networking, DNS, IP addressing, routing and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience supporting production migrations and controlled change implementation.
• Scripting and automation capability, preferably using Python, Perl, Golang, Bash or equivalent.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting and performance analysis.
• Familiarity with ITIL-aligned incident, problem, change and release processes.
• Ability to create clear technical documentation and communicate with engineering and operational stakeholders.
• Experience with IP networking, VLANs, VRFs, routing, firewall rules and data-centre connectivity.
• Experience with automation, configuration management, Git and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Strong technical documentation, stakeholder-management and knowledge-transfer skills.
• Ability to work with application SMEs, platform owners, network teams, infrastructure teams, field operations and equipment vendors.
• Develop and maintain ACS platform solution designs, network designs and implementation documentation.
• Support Fixed ACS, Mobile ACS, databases, proxy services, transaction servers and related tools.
• Support onboarding of new CPE/RG models, firmware versions and associated TR-181 parameters.
• Develop or enhance ACS transactions for provisioning, device status, firmware updates, diagnostics, mesh information and device management.
• Support TR-143 diagnostic workflows, including speed tests, sweep tests, scheduling, reporting and data retention.
