Job summary

Australian Communications & Media Authority (ACMA) seeks a capable APS 6 Human Resources Project Officer to deliver people and culture initiatives across the organisation. You will help shape programs that strengthen capability, engagement, diversity and a positive workplace culture.

This non-ongoing 12-month role may lead to ongoing opportunities and provides the chance to grow with the ACMA across upcoming vacancies.

Qualifications

  • Experience coordinating HR, learning and development, employee engagement or organisational development initiatives.
  • Sound project and program coordination skills with the ability to plan, monitor and deliver activities within agreed timeframes.
  • Experience coordinating procurement activities and managing relationships with external providers.
  • Excellent written communication skills and the ability to prepare clear and engaging content for different audiences.
  • Sound stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to build constructive working relationships.
  • Sound judgement, attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Experience supervising or coordinating a small team, including setting priorities and supporting capability development.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
  • Commitment to the APS and ACMA Values, integrity, diversity and inclusion, and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and continuously improve the ACMA’s rewards and recognition program
  • Coordinate learning and development activities, including procurement and engagement with learning providers
  • Support planning, delivery and evaluation of learning programs
  • Assist with internal communications that keep employees informed and engaged
  • Coordinate other HR projects including project plans, briefings, reports and communication materials
  • Support coordination of diversity and inclusion initiatives that contribute to an inclusive workplace culture
  • Build productive relationships with internal stakeholders, external providers and procurement partners
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and deliver practical business solutions
  • Lead a small team by setting priorities, coordinating workflows and supporting team members to achieve quality outcomes

The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) is an independent Commonwealth statutory authority responsible for the regulation of broadcasting, radiocommunications, telecommunications and some online content.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for an organised and proactive APS 6 Human Resources Project Officer to play a hands-on role in delivering people and culture initiatives that make a real difference across the ACMA. You will help shape programs that build organisational capability, strengthen employee engagement, promote diversity and inclusion, and support a positive and connected workplace culture.

We are looking to fill an immediate non-ongoing vacancy for 12 months, with the possibility of becoming ongoing. We are also looking to build a merit pool as we anticipate several upcoming vacancies across the branch that may be either ongoing or non-ongoing.

The role is responsible for:
