Job summary

PerforMotion in Teneriffe is seeking an experienced Accredited Exercise Physiologist to join our on-site clinic. You will manage a heavy musculoskeletal caseload, perform biomechanical assessments, and design rehab programs in collaboration with referring GPs, physiotherapists, and insurers.

You will contribute to mentoring, build referral networks, and help grow the EP service within our multidisciplinary facility with gym, recovery space and VALD technology.

Qualifications

• Must hold ESSA accreditation as Accredited Exercise Physiologist
• Minimum 3 years post-graduate clinical experience in private practice
• Deep musculoskeletal assessment and reasoning ability
• Strong practical exercise prescription in gym settings
• Broad EP practice across chronic disease, NDIS, older adults
• Current Medicare and DVA provider numbers or eligibility

Responsibilities

• Carry a heavy musculoskeletal caseload including sports injuries and rehabilitation
• Conduct movement and biomechanical assessments (lifting technique, gait, running mechanics)
• Design and progress exercise programs with objective outcome measures
• Coordinate referrals across private, Medicare EPC, DVA, NDIS, workers compensation and CTP
• Liaise with GPs, physiotherapists, coaches and funders
• Mentor early career EPs and contribute to clinic networking and growth

PerforMotion is a multidisciplinary exercise physiology, training and recovery clinic in Teneriffe. We work out of a full gym floor with quality equipment, supported by management, a full admin and reception function, and directors who are clinicians/coaches themselves.

We are looking for an experienced AEP whose strength is musculoskeletal injury and biomechanics, and who is equally comfortable across the rest of a general clinic caseload, and non-clinical duties.

About the role

• Full time, permanent, based on site at 232 Arthur Street, Teneriffe
• A heavy musculoskeletal caseload, including sports injuries, strength and gym related presentations, persistent pain and rehabilitation
• Alongside that, a share of the broader clinic caseload: chronic disease management, older adults and falls prevention, Medicare, Workcover, NDIS and DVA clients, and general population clients returning to exercise
• Movement and biomechanical assessment, including lifting technique, gait and running mechanics, and load tolerance testing
• Exercise prescription that uses the gym properly, from first steps back after injury through to return to sport, work or competition
• Initial assessments, program design, progression and discharge planning, with outcome measures used consistently
• Referrals across private, Medicare EPC, DVA, NDIS, workers compensation and CTP pathways
• Direct liaison with referring GPs, physiotherapists, coaches and insurers
• Contribute to clinical mentoring of early career EPs
• Contribute to networking, brand awareness, building referral pathways, and lead generation

What you will need

• ESSA accreditation as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, current and in good standing
• Minimum 3 years post-graduate clinical experience in private practice
• Genuine depth in musculoskeletal assessment and reasoning, and the confidence to manage complex presentations independently
• Strong practical exercise prescription in a gym setting, including resistance training, progressive loading and technique coaching
• Breadth across general EP practice, so you can pick up a chronic disease, NDIS or older adult client without it being a stretch
• Current Medicare and DVA provider numbers, or eligibility to obtain them
• Working with Children Check (Blue Card), current First Aid and CPR, and professional indemnity cover
• Clear, professional communication with clients, referrers and funders
• Sports, strength and conditioning or biomechanics experience or qualifications are well regarded
