Job summary

AccountAbility in Pyrmont, Sydney, seeks an Accounts Officer to own the Accounts Receivable function in a high-volume environment. You will focus on bank reconciliations, reporting accuracy, and proactive issue resolution while supporting broader finance operations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an Accounts Receivable or Accounts Officer role.
• Strong bank reconciliation experience is essential.
• Experience with high-volume transactions and multiple payment streams.
• Intermediate Excel skills including VLOOKUPs, reconciliations and data analysis.
• Experience using ERP systems preferred.
• High attention to detail with strong analytical skills.
• Proactive problem solver with the ability to work autonomously.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Full working rights as this is a permanent position.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of AR in a high-volume environment, focusing on bank reconciliations, problem-solving and process accuracy rather than collections.
• Manage the Accounts Receivable function (but this is not a collections-focused role).
• Perform high-volume bank reconciliations across multiple payment streams.
• Cash allocation and daily account reconciliations.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies and unmatched transactions.
• Monitor customer accounts and outstanding balances.
• Support month-end reporting and reconciliation processes.
• Maintain accurate financial records and reporting integrity.
• Provide ad hoc finance administration support as required.
