Job summary

Hassett Group collaborates with a large not-for-profit organisation based in Melbourne to appoint an experienced Accounts Payable Officer. You will manage end-to-end AP processing, ensuring accurate invoices, timely payments and clear supplier records within a busy finance team.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders, maintain documentation, and contribute to process improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience in an Accounts Payable Officer or similar transactional finance position.
• Experience using Microsoft Dynamics NAV or similar financial systems.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication skills with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a busy finance team.
• Experience in not-for-profit or healthcare sectors is beneficial but not essential.

• Reconcile creditor statements and investigate outstanding discrepancies
• Ensure invoices have appropriate purchase orders and approvals prior to payment

• Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve invoice and payment queries
• Assist with internal and external audit requirements
• Support the broader finance team with general accounting and administrative tasks
• Contribute to ongoing improvements across accounts payable processes and systems

• Previous experience in an Accounts Payable Officer or similar transactional finance position
• Strong understanding of end-to-end accounts payable processes
• Experience using Microsoft Dynamics NAV or similar financial systems, with Dynamics NAV experience highly regarded
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when processing financial transactions
• Excellent communication skills and confidence dealing with suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work efficiently within a busy finance team
• Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
• Experience within a large or complex organisation will be advantageous
• Previous exposure to the not-for-profit or healthcare sector would be beneficial but isn't essential
