Job summary

Foundry Talent Partners is partnering with a well-established investment management client in Sydney's CBD. They seek an experienced AP Manager to own the AP function end-to-end and drive improvements across processes and reporting.

You will mentor an AP Officer, oversee bank balances, vendor onboarding and month-end close, while contributing to broader finance transformation initiatives and automation projects. This is a hybrid role with two days WFH per week.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of end-to-end AP ownership.
• Track record of improving or transforming AP processes beyond keeping the basics.
• Experience mentoring or overseeing an AP Officer.
• Strong SAP Concur experience; MS Dynamics GP is a bonus.
• Proficient in Excel and data handling.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end Accounts Payable, including invoices, FX payments, reimbursements and corporate cards.
• Provide oversight and guidance to an AP Officer and build capability.
• Manage bank balances and internal transfers ahead of payment runs.
• Review aged creditors and resolve overdue or high-risk items.
• Escalate complex or sensitive AP issues as needed.
• Drive optimisation of SAP Concur for expenses and cards.
• Improve supplier invoice workflows to reduce manual handling.
• Build AP reporting to highlight trends, bottlenecks and red flags.
• Oversee supplier onboarding, master data governance and system access.
• Contribute to month-end and year-end close, intercompany processing and external audits.
• Support finance transformation and automation projects.

Our client is a well-established investment management firm based in the Sydney CBD. They're growing, they're investing in their finance function, and they need an experienced AP Manager to take full ownership of Accounts Payable.

This isn't a "keep the lights on" AP role. You'll own the function end to end and be given the room to improve it.

THE ROLE

• - You'll take end-to-end ownership of Accounts Payable, including invoices, FX payments, employee reimbursements and corporate credit cards.
• - You'll provide oversight and guidance to an AP Officer, reviewing their work and helping build their capability.
• - You'll manage bank balances and internal transfers so funds are ready ahead of each payment run.
• - You'll review the Aged Creditors listing and get on top of overdue or high-risk items before they become problems.
• - You'll be the escalation point for anything complex or sensitive that lands in the AP inbox.
• - You'll drive optimisation of SAP Concur for employee expenses and corporate cards.
• - You'll improve supplier invoice workflows to cut manual handling, rework and cycle times.
• - You'll build meaningful AP reporting that highlights trends, bottlenecks and red flags.
• - You'll oversee supplier onboarding, master data governance and system access.
• - You'll deliver the AP components of month-end and year-end close, oversee intercompany processing, and support the external audit.
• - You'll contribute to broader finance transformation and automation projects across the team.

ABOUT YOU

• - You'll have 5+ years of end-to-end AP ownership.
• - You'll have a track record of improving or transforming AP processes, not just running them.
• - You'll have experience overseeing or mentoring an AP Officer.
• - You'll have strong SAP Concur experience. Microsoft Dynamics GP is a bonus.
• - You'll be strong in Excel and comfortable working with data.
• - You'll have worked within month-end close and audit environments.
• - You'll hold a diploma or certificate in Accounting or AP.
• - Financial services experience is a plus but not essential.
