Job summary

Sharp & Carter is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable / Receivable Team Leader to join their Albury/Wodonga operation. You will lead a small finance team, oversee day-to-day AP/AR operations, and drive process improvements to deliver efficient service across the business.

This role combines leadership with hands-on involvement in reconciliations, payments, debtor management and stakeholder reporting, offering a collaborative environment and opportunities to develop people while staying close

Qualifications

• Experience leading AP/AR teams or senior AP roles.
• Strong end-to-end AP/AR knowledge.
• Proven leadership and people-management capabilities.
• Experience with ERP systems and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a small AP/AR team.
• Oversee end-to-end AP/AR processes and deadlines.
• Manage reconciliations, payments and debtor management.
• Address supplier and customer enquiries.

About the Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Accounts Payable / Receivable Team Leader to join a well-established organisation based in the Albury/Wodonga region.

Leading a small finance team, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable and receivable function while identifying opportunities to improve processes, streamline workflows and enhance service delivery across the business.

This role offers a combination of leadership responsibilities and hands‑on involvement, making it ideal for someone who enjoys developing people while remaining close to the operational finance function.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and support a small AP/AR team
• Oversee end-to-end accounts payable and receivable processes
• Monitor workloads and ensure deadlines are achieved
• Manage reconciliations, payment runs and debtor management activities
• Resolve escalated supplier and customer enquiries
• Partner with internal stakeholders across the business
• Support month-end activities and reporting requirements
• Identify and implement process improvement initiatives
• Maintain strong financial controls and compliance standards

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in a Team Lead, Supervisor or Senior AP position highly desirable
• Strong end-to-end Accounts Payable and Receivable knowledge
• Demonstrated people leadership capability
• Experience using accounting or ERP systems
• Strong Excel and reconciliation skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Process improvement mindset with strong attention to detail
