Job summary

Challenger Services Group – Surry Hills NSW is seeking an Accounts Officer to join our growing finance team. You will handle AP/AR duties and support procurement, reconciliations, and financial reporting in a collaborative national business.

You will work with Finance, Operations, suppliers and customers to maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with procedures while developing your accounting career in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, or a similar accounting role.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP or accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices and support accounts payable activities.
• Raise customer invoices and support accounts receivable.
• Process procurement orders and maintain accurate records.
• Allocate daily bank receipts and payments.

Challenger Services Group is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Officer to join our Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable professional looking to further develop their accounting expertise within a growing national organisation.

You'll gain exposure to a broad range of accounting functions while working closely with Finance, Operations, suppliers, and customers to support the day-to-day financial operations of the business.

What You’ll Be Doing

As an Accounts Officer, you'll be responsible for:

• Processing supplier invoices and supporting accounts payable activities.
• Raising customer invoices and supporting accounts receivable functions.
• Processing procurement orders and maintaining accurate records.
• Allocating and posting daily bank receipts and payments.
• Performing vendor and customer account reconciliations.
• Following up outstanding customer balances and resolving account queries.
• Liaising with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and customers regarding financial matters.
• Assisting with reporting, financial analysis, and process improvement initiatives.
• Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with company procedures.

About You

You’ll be someone who:

• Has 5+ years' experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, or a similar accounting role.
• Possesses strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Has experience working with ERP or accounting systems.
• Is analytical, organised, and detail-oriented.
• Has excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Enjoys problem-solving and finding practical solutions.
• Is self-motivated and able to manage competing priorities.
• Works well independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Is eager to continue learning and developing their accounting career.
