Job summary

Prime Advisory is seeking an Intermediate to early Senior Accountant for our Sydney CBD team. You will own your engagements, prepare financial statements and tax returns, and directly interact with clients to provide practical tax and accounting guidance.

You will work across companies, trusts, and individuals, with opportunities to grow into a senior, client-facing position while supporting CA/CPA studies. Hybrid work arrangements are available.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years' Australian public practice experience.
• Solid experience with financial statements and tax returns for companies, trusts and individuals.
• Strong grounding in Australian tax (Division 7A, trust distributions, CGT, GST and BAS).
• Competent with Xero and cloud accounting software
• Comfort dealing directly with clients and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and tax returns for clients.
• Manage own jobs from start to finish with limited supervision.
• Build relationships with clients and be their go-to contact.
• Advise on Division 7A, trust distributions, CGT, GST and BAS.
• Work in Xero and other cloud platforms.
• Support partners on tax planning and structuring work as you grow.

We're now looking for an Intermediate to early Senior Accountant to join our Sydney CBD team. You'll be technically strong, take real ownership of your work and be ready to step up into a more senior, client-facing role.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing financial statements and tax returns for companies, trusts, individuals and investment entities
• Managing your own jobs from start to finish with limited supervision
• Working directly with clients, building relationships and becoming their go-to contact
• Advising on Division 7A, trust distributions, CGT, GST and BAS
• Working in Xero and other cloud accounting platforms
• Supporting partners on tax planning and structuring work as you grow

What you'll bring

• Around 3-6 years' Australian public practice experience
• Solid experience with financial statements and tax returns across companies, trusts and individuals
• A strong grounding in Australian tax, including Division 7A, trust distributions, CGT, GST and BAS
• Confidence with Xero and cloud accounting software
• Comfort dealing directly with clients, plus strong communication skills
• Sharp attention to detail and a habit of owning your work
• CA/CPA qualified, or currently completing your studies (preferred)
