Lake Maintenance in Newcastle, NSW is seeking a qualified Accountant to join our dynamic team on a permanent full-time basis. The role centers on maintaining precise financial records, ensuring compliance with Australian accounting standards and tax regulations, and delivering timely, insightful analysis to support strategic business decisions across departments.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar accounting role.
• Proficiency in accounting software (MYOB, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Mansioni

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with Australian accounting standards.
• Assist with accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
• Conduct regular reconciliations of bank statements and general ledger accounts.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing variance analysis as required.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in the preparation of tax returns.
• Support month-end processes, including journals, accruals, prepayments and general ledger activities.
• Reviewing financial information, investigating discrepancies and escalating issues where required.
• Support the audit process by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support business decisions.
• Identifying opportunities to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the finance processes.
