Job summary

RSM Australia in Ballarat is seeking an accounting professional to analyse financial data and prepare high‑quality reports that provide clients with clear guidance on their financial position. You will help manage records across assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and tax obligations, ensuring accuracy and transparency in all activities.

You will work with a diverse client portfolio, develop strong advisory foundations, and grow your career within a supportive environment that values learning

Qualifications

• 1–3 years’ experience in a similar accounting role
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team
• Business or Commerce degree with an Accounting major
• Commenced (or intention to commence) CA or equivalent qualification

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of financial statements in line with accounting standards
• Apply knowledge of client, firm and industry trends and current issues
• Prepare clear, well‑structured work papers evidencing work performed
• Review financial statements and management accounts, ensuring accuracy and consistency
• Identify and assist in resolving accounting issues
• Apply basic tax compliance procedures
• Assist with tax planning activities for clients
• Prepare income tax returns for individuals, companies and trusts
• Complete required regulatory forms accurately and on time
• Meet lodgment deadlines in line with lodgment program requirements
