Job summary

Nature’s Care is seeking an experienced Accountant to join a small, supportive Finance team in Belrose NSW. This full-time, permanent role focuses on cost accounting, inventory management, accounts payable, and month-end reporting in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

You will take ownership of end-to-end AP, perform cycle counts, and contribute to process improvements while collaborating with colleagues across the business. Based at our head office, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

Job description

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Accountant to join a small, friendly and supportive Finance team. This is a permanent full-time role, based in our newly renovated head office (Belrose NSW 2085) from Monday to Friday.

This role will be responsible for cost accounting, cycle counts, inventory management, accounts payable, month-end reporting and supporting the broader finance function.

The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. We are looking for someone who is willing to take ownership of tasks at all levels, being hands-on with the end to end accounts payable process as well as conducting physical cycle counts.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare, analyse and maintain cost accounting records, reports and supporting schedules.

Maintain and review average costs for raw materials, packaging, work-in-progress (WIP) and finished goods.

Perform inventory reconciliations, controls, co-ordination of stocktakes and cycle counts, and investigate discrepancies.

Analyse material, labour and overhead costs and investigate significant cost variances, providing clear explanations to management.

Complete month-end cost accounting processes and prepare monthly management reports.

Review production and operational costs to identify opportunities for improved efficiency and cost savings.

Assist with internal and external audit requirements.

Ad hoc tasks related to costing and inventory.

Accounts Payable

Verify and process supplier invoices against purchase orders, goods receipts and supporting documentation.

Maintain accurate supplier accounts, reconcile supplier statements and investigate and resolve outstanding or disputed items.

Prepare and process weekly supplier payment runs, ensuring invoices are paid accurately and on time.

Respond to supplier queries and resolve invoice and payment issues promptly.

Maintain accurate and complete AP records in accordance with company policies.

Month-End & General Accounting

Assist with month-end closing processes, reconciliations, accruals and financial reporting.

Ensure accounting records are accurate, complete and maintained in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.

Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, controls and reporting.

Perform other ad hoc accounting and finance duties as required.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Experience in cost accounting, inventory accounting or general accounting, preferably within a manufacturing environment

Strong understanding of inventory costing, cost variances and reconciliations

Experience in accounts payable and month-end accounting processes

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail

Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience using accounting or ERP systems

A proactive approach to identifying process improvements and resolving issues
