Job summary

Perigon Group is seeking an energetic Accountant to join the finance team on an initial 14-month maternity leave contract. You will own month-end activities, perform journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and assist with reporting packs.

You will also run balance sheet reconciliations, support P&L reviews, and manage fixed assets, capex and depreciation. Strong Excel skills and ERP exposure are desirable as you collaborate with the wider finance team.

Qualifications

• Degree-backed in accounting/finance.
• CPA/CA qualified or working towards
• Confident with Excel PivotTables and lookups.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end—journals, accruals, reconciliations, workpapers, reporting packs.
• Run balance sheet reconciliations and support P&L reviews and variance analysis.
• Manage fixed assets, capex and depreciation, including additions and disposals.
• Handle bank, credit card, cash and daily sales reconciliations.
• Get BAS workpapers and FBT analysis where possible.
• Provide AP backup—coding, approvals, payment runs.

Details of the role:

• Own your slice of month-end — journals, accruals, reconciliations, workpapers, reporting packs
• Run balance sheet recs and support P&L reviews and variance analysis
• Manage fixed assets, capex and depreciation, including additions and disposals
• Handle bank, credit card, cash and daily sales reconciliations
• Get across BAS workpapers and FBT analysis (bonus points if you already are)
• Provide AP backup when needed — coding, approvals, payment runs
• Be the finance person the teams actually want to talk to

To be considered for this role:

• 2-4 years in finance or accounting, degree-backed
• CPA/CA qualified, working towards it, or a strong Assistant Accountant ready to step up
• Confident with Excel — PivotTables, lookups, clean recs
• ERP exposure (Dynamics 365 BC, Adyen, Exerp or similar) is a plus, not a must
• A steady head for deadlines and a habit of catching small issues before they become big ones
