Richard Lloyd Accounting Recruitment in Chatswood, NSW is seeking a full-time Accountant to join a growing Australian consulting business focused on environmental sustainability and energy. The role offers hybrid WFH flexibility and a clear path to manage the accounting function under a Head of Finance.

This position reports to the Head of Finance and covers financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, systems improvements, payroll oversight and review of offshore AP/AR work.

Qualifications

• CPA/CA qualified or near qualification.
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar Accountant role.
• Xero experience is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
• Good attitude to learn and take on forthcoming duties.

Responsibilities

• Financial reporting – month end reports, balance sheet reconciliations, GL preparation and year end statutory accounts.
• Budgeting and forecasting, cash flow forecasting and variance analysis.
• Systems – automating processes and improving processes.
• Oversee outsourced payroll and taxation function.
• Review the work of offshore AP and AR staff.

The Role

This is a full-time and permanent Accountant role where you will report into a Head of Finance and be responsible for the following duties:

• Financial Reporting – month end reports, balance sheet reconciliations, GL preparation and preparation of year end statutory accounts
• Budgeting and forecasting, cash flow forecasting and variance analysis
• Systems – automating processes and making process improvements
• Oversee the outsourced payroll and taxation function
• Review the work of the offshore AP and AR staff

Your Background

To be considered for this Accountant position, you will be:

• CPA/CA qualified or near qualification
• At least 2 years of previous experience in a similar Financial Accountant Company Accountant or Accountant role
• Xero system experience is highly desirable
• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to liaise with internal and external stakeholders
• Good attitude to learn and take on forthcoming duties
