Job summary

GTEC Associates Pty Ltd is seeking a qualified and experienced Accountant to manage and support the company’s accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, taxation, internal controls and financial systems. The role requires coordinating with management, external advisers and offshore teams across multiple locations.

Key responsibilities include budgeting, financial statements, cost analysis and ERP implementations (Odoo/BC).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Accounting, Commerce with an Accounting major, or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant professional accounting experience across local and international environments.
• Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, taxation and GST compliance.
• Experience in reconciliations, internal controls and accounting systems.
• Experience liaising with external tax accountants, auditors, banks, lenders, brokers or advisers.
• Proficiency in Odoo and Microsoft Business Central.
• Experience implementing or maintaining accounting systems and processes.
• Ability to develop scalable accounting processes for multiple locations.
• Experience coordinating offshore accounting teams.
• Experience in vehicle rental, transport, fleet or asset-intensive environments is highly regarded.
• Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail and organisational ability.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in formulating budgets and accounting policies, prepare budgets/forecasts, and monitor performance against objectives.

• Coordinate and supervise offshore accounting/finance teams.

The successful candidate will work closely with management, external advisers, finance providers and internal and offshore team members. The role will also support the development of scalable accounting systems and processes as the business expands across multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in formulating budgetary and accounting policies, prepare budgets and forecasts, and monitor financial performance against business objectives.
• Prepare financial statements, management accounts and reports for management and relevant stakeholders, ensuring the accuracy of financial information and compliance with applicable statutory requirements.
• Examine operating costs, income and expenditure, analyse financial performance, cash flow and financial risks, and provide management with financial insights to support business and investment decisions.
• Conduct financial investigations and provide accounting and financial advice on business operations, taxation, financing, business structures and other financial matters.
• Coordinate taxation and GST requirements, including preparation of relevant information and liaison with the company’s external tax accountant, auditors and other professional advisers.
• Liaise with banks, brokers, lenders and finance providers regarding vehicle financing and other business financing arrangements.
• Introduce, maintain and improve accounting systems and internal controls, including the effective implementation and optimisation of ERPs such as Odoo and Microsoft Business Central.
• Develop scalable accounting processes, reporting structures and financial controls capable of supporting the company’s vehicle rental, transport and automotive repair operations across multiple locations.
• Coordinate and supervise offshore accounting or finance teams, including work allocation and review of outputs.
