Job summary

Gallagher is seeking an experienced Account Manager for its Marine, Transport & Logistics team in NSW. You will manage a significant marine insurance portfolio, deliver tailored risk solutions, and negotiate outcomes with local and international insurers.

You will mentor teammates, develop new business opportunities, and uphold Gallagher’s values while delivering exceptional client service and growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in insurance broking or account management.
• Experience with mid-market to large commercial or marine clients.
• Strong technical insurance knowledge and client focus.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and driven Account Manager to join Gallagher's Marine, Transport & Logistics team. This role will be responsible for managing a significant portfolio of marine and commercial clients, delivering exceptional client service, and supporting the continued growth of one of Australia's leading specialist marine insurance practices.

Working alongside a highly experienced team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong client relationships, delivering tailored risk and insurance solutions, and negotiating competitive outcomes with local and international insurers.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of marine, transport, logistics and commercial clients.
• Coordinate the end-to-end renewal process, including strategy meetings, market engagement, reporting, policy amendments and placements.
• Provide informed risk advice and develop tailored insurance solutions that align with clients' operational and commercial objectives.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with insurers, underwriting agencies and key industry stakeholders.
• Assist in the development of new business opportunities and support growth initiatives across the portfolio.
• Manage insurer negotiations to achieve optimal coverage and commercial outcomes for clients.
• Monitor and manage debtor performance and portfolio profitability.
• Mentor and support junior team members while contributing to a collaborative team culture.
• Act as a Gallagher brand ambassador within the marine and transport industry.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:

• Minimum 5 years' experience in insurance broking or account management.
• Experience managing mid-market to large commercial or marine clients.
• Strong technical insurance knowledge and a client-focused approach.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality service outcomes.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven ability to develop business opportunities and contribute to portfolio growth.
• Tier 1 Insurance Broking qualification (or equivalent).
• Marine insurance experience preferred but not essential for candidates with strong commercial broking backgrounds and a desire to specialise.
