If you're passionate about supporting vulnerable young people, skilled at building trust, and confident assessing needs and risk while maintaining a compassionate, person-centred approach, we'd love to hear from you.
In a community like Gympie, growing, diverse, and full of potential, the need for the right support at the right moment has never been greater. At headspace Gympie, we are creating a place where young people feel safe to reach out, be heard, and take their first steps toward a better future.
This role sits at the very front of our service. Every call, every walk-in, every referral begins with you. You will engage, screen, assess, and guide young people aged 12–25 into the support they need, whether that's within headspace or across the Gympie community.
You will move confidently between conversations, assessments, risk management, and care coordination. No two days will look the same, but every day will carry purpose.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate closely with clinicians, GPs, allied health professionals, and local partners to ensure young people don't just access support—but the right support.
You will create strong, genuine connections from the very first interaction, ensuring young people feel safe, respected, and understood.
This role requires both pace and presence, the ability to manage competing demands while still making each young person feel like they matter.
Gympie is more than a location; it's a community where connection is everything. You'll be working in a region where early intervention can significantly alter life trajectories, and where strong local networks make truly integrated care possible.
You will build relationships with schools, services, and community organisations, helping to create clear pathways so young people don't fall through the gaps.
You are calm, empathetic, and highly attuned to people. You know how to ask the right questions, even in challenging moments, and you bring confidence when assessing risk and making decisions.
You connect easily with young people from all backgrounds and can adapt your approach to meet them where they are—whether they are overwhelmed, unsure, or just beginning to seek help.
You are organised, responsive, and able to work in a fast-moving environment while maintaining quality and care. Most importantly, you are driven by purpose and the opportunity to make a real difference.
You will be part of a team that genuinely cares, about young people, about each other, and about doing the work well. You will be supported through clinical supervision, professional development, and a collaborative culture where your voice matters.
This is a role where small moments lead to big outcomes. A conversation you have today could change the direction of someone's life tomorrow.
We provide a rewarding and supportive employment experience designed to help you thrive both professionally and personally:
