Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Liaison Officer
Shine People Solutions is a proudly Aboriginal-owned and operated consultancy committed to connecting exceptional talent with purpose-driven organisations. We work with clients who are serious about creating inclusive, culturally safe workplaces.
Our client is a leading professional membership organisation supporting psychiatrists across Australia and New Zealand. Through education, training, advocacy and professional development, they work to strengthen mental health outcomes and improve access to culturally safe care for diverse communities. Committed to reconciliation and inclusion, our client is focused on building stronger relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and ensuring First Nations voices are reflected across their work.
We are seeking an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Liaison Officer to support cultural safety, inclusion and engagement initiatives within a leading national organisation. This is an Indigenous Identified role and is only open to applicants who identify as Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander.
The role can be based in Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne and offers a hybrid working model with work-from-home flexibility.
Working closely with internal teams, members and stakeholders, you will provide cultural advice and support initiatives that strengthen engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities. You will help embed culturally safe practices across the organisation and contribute to projects that support improved mental health outcomes for First Nations peoples.
The role works closely with a Senior Advisor and offers opportunities for professional development, cultural supervision, networking and conference attendance. This role would suit an Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander professional at an early to mid-career stage who is passionate about creating positive outcomes for First Nations peoples and communities. Whether your experience has been gained in community services, health, public health, advocacy, engagement, policy or a related field, we encourage you to apply if you bring strong relationship-building skills, cultural knowledge and a commitment to learning and professional growth.
Experience in mental health, healthcare, education, member-based organisations or professional associations will be highly regarded. However, we recognise that great candidates come from a variety of backgrounds. If you meet some, but not all, of the criteria and are passionate about the opportunity to grow and make an impact, we encourage you to apply.
This position is only open to Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander applicants. Our client considers that being Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander is a genuine occupational requirement for this position under the Anti-Discrimination Act applicable in the state of employment.
