Job summary

South Western Sydney Local Health District is offering a 12-month, full-time paid traineeship for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants. You will train toward a nationally recognised Certificate III or higher through TAFE with paid study time and mentoring.

The program runs at Bankstown Hospital with a 38-hour weekly schedule and provides a pathway to future opportunities within the district. Applicants must identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, be 16+, and commit to

Qualifications

• Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
• Be aged 16 years or older.
• Be committed to attending TAFE one day per week to complete a Certificate III.
• Be available to work 38 hours per week.
• No prior experience is required, just a willingness to learn and grow.

Responsibilities

• Assist in Nursing traineeship duties as assigned at Bankstown Hospital.
• Participate in workbook/TAFE-based learning while maintaining patient safety and care.
• Adhere to NSW Health vaccination and screening requirements and organisational policies.
