Job summary

NSW Health is seeking an Aboriginal Peer Worker for the Mid North Coast Local Health District. The role uses lived Aboriginal experience to support clients within mental health services, promoting hope and culturally appropriate care pathways.

The successful candidate will work part-time (20 hours/week), travel to multiple locations as needed, and contribute to enhancing cultural capacity and person-centred support.

Qualifications

• Must identify as Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander under relevant law.
• Lived experience and cultural knowledge to support Aboriginal consumers.

Responsibilities

• Support people using the mental health service using lived experience as an Aboriginal person.
• Build rapport and promote hope; provide culturally appropriate care pathways.
