Job summary

Health in Adelaide is seeking an Aboriginal Hospital Liaison Officer to advocate for culturally safe healthcare for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients. You will support families, facilitate communication between clinical teams and communities, and help ensure respectful, equitable care.

The role reports to the Nurse Unit Manager and requires strong cultural knowledge, excellent communication, and experience in advocacy or community liaison.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a culturally sensitive and accountable manner with Aboriginal individuals, families and communities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, with Aboriginal people, non-Aboriginal people, health workers and other organisations.
  • Strong understanding of Aboriginal culture and community issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in advocacy or community liaison roles preferred.

About the role:
