Job summary

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service in Kempsey seeks an Aboriginal Identified Field Officer to support conservation of environment and Aboriginal heritage. The role includes asset maintenance, remote-area work, and assisting visitors with safety and information.

Travelling to remote sites, you may lead projects and operate with limited supervision. Abilities to obtain MR/licences and complete required certifications within 6–12 months are essential.

Qualifications

• Aboriginality in accordance with NSW Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.
• Current Australian Class C Drivers licence with ability to obtain MR licence.
• Certification to operate a chainsaw to level 1 crosscut standard within 12 months.
• First Aid certificate within 6 months of commencement.
• White Card within 6 months from commencement.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to conservation of the environment, flora, fauna and Aboriginal heritage.
• Respond to visitor enquiries and assist in safety and asset maintenance.
• Lead projects and operate in remote locations with minimal supervision.
• Perform safety inspections and support park asset maintenance.
