Job summary

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service is seeking two Field Officer (Grade 1-4) to help protect NSW’s natural places. These are ongoing full-time roles based in La Perouse and Nielsen Park, requiring weekend and public holiday work and a physically active outdoor job.

You will perform asset construction and maintenance, weed control, fire management, and visitor services while helping to safeguard Aboriginal heritage.

Qualifications

• Current Australian Class C Driver's licence or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain Medium Rigid (MR) Licence and operate MR vehicles.
• Obtain a Four-Wheel Drive (4WD) Recovery Certification within 6 months of commencement.
• First Aid certificate obtained within 6 months of commencement.
• Obtain General Construction Induction card (White Card) within 6 months from commencement.
• Certification to operate a chainsaw to level 1 crosscut standard obtained within 12 months from commencement.

Responsibilities

• Perform field duties including asset construction/maintenance and equipment operation.
• Support feral animal and weed control and fire management.
• Provide visitor services and maintain safety of recreational areas.
• Work as part of NPWS team to protect natural and cultural values.
