Job summary

Coast & Country Primary Care (CCPC) is seeking an Aboriginal Health Worker to join a multidisciplinary team delivering Psychological Therapies for Underserviced Populations across Bathurst, Orange and surrounding areas. You will promote culturally safe, person-centred care, strengthen community connections and support culturally responsive service delivery.

The role involves engaging Aboriginal consumers, navigating access pathways and collaborating with Aboriginal Community Controlled

Qualifications

• Must identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
• Working towards or holds Certificate III in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care.
• Previous experience in a similar position.
• Knowledge of Aboriginal societies, cultures and issues affecting Aboriginal people.
• Ability to communicate sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
• Ability to work collaboratively with key stakeholders.
• Valid WWCC and CRC for vulnerable groups within last 12 months.
• Driver’s license and vehicle; willingness to travel within Western NSW.

Responsibilities

• Provide culturally safe engagement and support to Aboriginal consumers, families and communities accessing mental health services.
• Promote culturally appropriate care through yarning-based engagement and advocacy.
• Build trusting relationships with Aboriginal communities, Elders and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with ACCOs, SEWB services and partners to strengthen referral pathways.
• Support community engagement activities and partnerships with Aboriginal communities.
