Job summary

Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District is seeking an Aboriginal Strategic Development Officer to advance culturally safe, responsive and effective health services. You will partner with communities and health services to drive system-wide change and improve outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience at senior level in Aboriginal health.
• Strong interpersonal and project management skills with experience liaising to promote change.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with conflicting milestones and deadlines.
• Commitment to Indigenous health and understanding of issues impacting Indigenous peoples.
• Experience in participating in research and/or service evaluation with data collection.

Responsibilities

• Support development and implementation of strategies, policies, procedures, standards and research initiatives.
• Partner with communities, health services and stakeholders to improve health outcomes.
• Drive culturally safe, accessible and effective services and facilities across NBMLHD.
• Prepare complex reports, briefs and submissions.
