Job summary

Montessori Academy in NSW is seeking a creative and passionate Room Leader to guide a team of experienced Educators in delivering a high-quality Montessori early learning program. You will lead daily activities, maintain a safe, nurturing environment and foster strong ties with families.

The role requires a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or ACECQA equivalent), experience as a Room Leader, and a solid understanding of the NQF.

Qualifications

• Diploma or ACECQA equivalent required.
• Experience as Room Leader in early childhood setting preferred.
• Current Working with Children Check required.
• First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain.
• Strong knowledge of NQF and child safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop the Children's Program reflecting EYLF guidelines.
• Maintain a safe environment for staff and children, addressing allergies and medical needs.
• Keep accurate records of accidents, incidents, injuries and medication.
• Liaise with families regarding day-to-day happenings.
• Maintain observations and records of individual children's progress.

The Role

The role requires a creative and passionate Room Leader to work lead a team of experienced Educators in accordance to policy and procedures. This role is highly dynamic and creative, giving the right candidate the opportunity to deliver a truly inspiring Montessori early learning experience.

• To develop the Children's Program (reflecting Early Years Learning Framework guidelines).
• Ensure a safe environment is maintained for staff and children, with particular attention to children with anaphylaxis, allergies, asthma etc.
• To ensure that accurate records are kept in regards to accident, incident, injury, illness and medication
• To liaise with families in regards to the day to day happenings.
• To maintain observations and records of individual children's progress, particularly those identified through staff observation.

About You

• Min. Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or ACECQA equivalent)
• Experience working as a Room Leader in an early childhood setting
• Current Working with Children Check
• First Aid Certificate or willing to obtain one
• Excellent understanding and working knowledge of the NQF
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively in a team environment
• Strong understanding of the importance of family communications
