Job summary

oneZero Financial Systems in Sydney is seeking an IT Operations Engineer to deliver reliable infrastructure and exceptional user support across 24x7 monitoring and incident management in a high-availability financial services environment.

You will manage end-user and production infrastructure through onboarding, daily operations, maintenance, and offboarding, with independent decision-making and on-call rotation to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in IT operations or a similar technical support role.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment in high-pressure situations and make critical decisions impacting system availability.
• Experience with Windows and Linux server environments, virtualization technologies.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies.
• Hands-on experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Datadog, PRTG).
• Proficiency with ITSM platforms (ServiceNow, Jira Service Management).
• Experience with Active Directory and Office 365; familiarity with enterprise security tools and backup procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, customer service orientation.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Monitor production systems 24x7 to ensure performance and availability.
• Live incident management with independent assessment of severity and response strategy.
• Coordinate with development teams during incidents and outages as the technical authority.
• Document incident response procedures and maintain records.
• Perform regular maintenance and patching of servers and applications.
• Manage backup systems and verify backup integrity.
• Handle software installations, license management, and access requests.
