Job summary

Cummins Inc. offers a 13-month IT internship based at our Scoresby office in Melbourne. This paid placement is open to undergraduate IT students for either full-time or part-time work, commencing 27 January 2027, with the possibility to defer studies for the duration.

The role supports delivery of IT services and infrastructure, including networks, telephony, desktops, printers, and collaboration with business partners across CBS IT in the South Pacific and Southeast Asia.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor degree of Information Technology or similar.
• Have 1–8 units left to complete as of January 2027.
• Available for the full 13 months and willing to defer your studies.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development, delivery, maintenance, and support of IT Infrastructure Services.
• Support the generation and reporting of service delivery metrics (Scorecards, SLAs, customer satisfaction).
• Act as contact for customers for service-related inquiries and build relationships with key customers and suppliers.
• Identify opportunities for Continuous Improvement of IT Infrastructure Services.
• Build relationships with users, technical staff, and management to resolve IT incidents and problems.

If you are an undergraduate IT student looking to jump start your career, we are offering a 13-month full time internship based at our Scoresby office .This is a unique opportunity to gain skills and knowledge while you are working full time commencing 27th January 2027. The primary objective for this role is to assist in the delivery of IT services and technical support of IT infrastructure operated by CBS IT in the South Pacific and Southeast Asia regions. This will be achieved by working with CBS IT teams responsible for networks, telephony, desktop and hardcopy services and by working directly with business and IT partners from various business units.

In this role you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Assist in the development, delivery, maintenance, and support of IT Infrastructure Services

• Support the generation and reporting of service delivery metrics (i.e., Scorecards, Service Level Agreement (SLAs) and Customer Satisfaction or Net Promoter Scoring).

• Act as contact for customers for service-related inquiries and building of collaborative relationships with key customers and suppliers.

• Identify opportunities for Continuous Improvement of IT Infrastructure Services

• Build relationships with users, technical staff, and management to determine and resolve IT incidents and problems.

About You:

To qualify for this undergraduate internship, it is essential that you:

• Are currently studying a Bachelor degree of Information Technology or similar.

• Have between 1 and 8 units of study left to complete of your undergraduate degree as of January 2027

• Are available for the full 13 months and be willing to defer your studies for that duration.

Note: Applicants that do not meet these qualifying requirements unfortunately will not be considered.

To be successful in this role, you will possess skills/or be able to perform:

• General knowledge of IT functions and services particularly in IT infrastructure such as networks, telephony, mobile phones, PC hardware and software and printers.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft PC operating system and office productivity software such as MS Office and email systems.

• Working knowledge of mobile and tablet technologies (Apple products).

• Basic project management skills.

• Excellent communications and customer service skills.

This is a 13-month, full time or part time, paid placement and the successful candidate will be required to defer their studies for the duration of the program.
