Progress Rail is inviting applications for the 2027 Electrical Apprenticeship Intake. The role combines formal TAFE study with hands-on training under skilled mentors to learn maintenance, repair and technical support for a locomotive fleet.

Successful candidates will develop fault analysis and fleet performance skills, culminating in a Certificate III in Electrotechnology (Electrician) after completion.

Qualificações

• Year 12 School Certificate (or equivalent).
• A prevocational certificate II in Electrotechnology would be looked upon favourably.
• Commitment to safety, quality and the full apprenticeship program.
• Reliable transport and good punctuality.
• A strong work ethic, with a willingness to listen, learn and take direction.
• Good communication skills and ability to work with a wide range of people.
• Basic computer skills.

About the Role:
During your apprenticeship you will:

Complete formal studies at TAFE.

Gain practical, hands‑on training under the guidance of skilled and supportive tradespeople.

Learn how to maintain, repair and provide technical support for a fleet of locomotives.

Develop your skills in fault analysis, maintenance, fleet performance and technical support.

On successful completion, you’ll graduate with a Certificate III in Electrotechnology (Electrician) – opening the door to a long-term career with a globally recognises company.
