Job summary

Monadelphous is seeking a Senior Contract Administrator to manage the full contract lifecycle across head and subcontract scopes on major infrastructure projects in Australia. You will oversee procurement, cost forecasting, claims, variations and contract closeout while supporting project delivery and commercial decisions.

Qualifications

  • Mining, minerals, oil & gas, or major infrastructure project contract admin experience.
  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Law, Engineering, or Quantity Surveying.
  • Experience in energy, infrastructure, or resources sectors.
  • Strong contract management and administration on large-scale construction projects.
  • Experience across variations, claims, and contract execution.
  • Strong understanding of commercial principles and contract risk.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at multiple levels.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full contract lifecycle across Head Contract and Subcontract scopes, including procurement, cost forecasting, claims, variations, and closeout.
  • Administer the Head Contract by managing obligations, notices, time-bars, and upstream claims (EOTs/delay costs).
  • Lead subcontract procurement, negotiation, and award, ensuring flow-down of Head Contract obligations and risk alignment.
  • Administer subcontractor agreements, including progress claims, variations, compliance, and performance monitoring.
  • Support offsite commercial management and onsite delivery teams in identifying and managing change events.
  • Coordinate and manage contract documentation (RFIs, TQs, site instructions, POs, correspondence).
  • Provide commercial advice to Project Managers to protect entitlements and drive outcomes.
  • Monitor and manage commercial risk across Head/Subcontract interfaces.
  • Ensure compliance with procedures, contract requirements, and legislation.
  • Support site-based teams interfacing onsite and offsite commercial functions.

Job description

As the Senior Contract Administrator/Contract Administrator you will manage the full contract lifecycle, including Head contract administration, procurement, cost forecasting, subcontractor management, claims, variations, and contract closeout.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the full contract lifecycle across both Head Contract and Subcontract scopes, including procurement, cost forecasting, claims, variations, and closeout
  • Administer the Head Contract by managing contractual obligations, notices, time-bars, and upstream claims (including EOTs and delay costs)
  • Lead subcontract procurement, negotiation, and award, ensuring appropriate flow-down of Head Contract obligations and alignment of risk profiles
  • Administer subcontractor agreements, including progress claims, variations, compliance, and performance monitoring in line with project requirements
  • Support both offsite commercial management (forecasting, reporting, strategy) and onsite delivery teams in identifying, capturing, and managing change events
  • Coordinate and manage contract documentation, including RFIs, TQs, site instructions, purchase orders, and contractual correspondence
  • Provide commercial advice to Project Managers and project teams to protect contractual entitlements and drive project outcomes
  • Monitor and manage commercial risk across both Head Contract and Subcontract interfaces
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, contract requirements, and relevant legislation
  • Support site-based teams as required, including interface between onsite delivery and offsite commercial functions
What you’ll bring:
  • Proven experience in a Contract Administrator or similar role within mining, minerals, oil & gas, or major infrastructure projects
  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Law, Engineering, or Quantity Surveying (highly regarded)
  • Experience within energy, infrastructure, or resources sectors
  • Strong experience in contract management and administration on large-scale construction projects
  • Proven experience across variations, claims, and contract execution
  • Strong understanding of commercial principles and contract risk
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at multiple levels
