Job summary

The Education Specialists are seeking a caring and enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Netherton. This full-time, on-site role supports a Reception pupil with SEND and focuses on emotional regulation, attention, and social development. The role offers CPD access and dedicated consultant support.

Successful applicants will work closely with the class teacher to promote learning, independence, and positive behaviours across daily activities.

Qualifications

• Experience working as a Teaching Assistant in EYFS or primary education.
• Experience supporting children with SEND, particularly autism or social and emotional needs.
• A patient, nurturing and proactive approach.
• Understanding of emotional regulation, social communication and positive behaviour strategies.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day.
• Help develop attention, concentration and engagement in learning.
• Support emotional regulation and transitions between activities.
• Encourage positive social interactions and an understanding of boundaries.
• Use the pupil's interests to promote learning, confidence and independence.
• Work closely with the class teacher to support the pupil's development.
